# What is the AnatomyArchive?

### **The Concept**

<span style="color:rgb(170,170,170);background-color:rgb(34,34,34);white-space:pre-wrap;">The AnatomyArchive is collaborative just like </span>**Wikipedia,**<span style="color:rgb(170,170,170);background-color:rgb(34,34,34);white-space:pre-wrap;"> which means you can </span>**create your own pages** <span style="color:rgb(170,170,170);background-color:rgb(34,34,34);white-space:pre-wrap;">and </span>**study other pages.**
<span style="color:rgb(170,170,170);background-color:rgb(34,34,34);">(</span>**page** <span style="color:rgb(170,170,170);background-color:rgb(34,34,34);white-space:pre-wrap;">just means </span>**article**<span style="color:rgb(170,170,170);background-color:rgb(34,34,34);">)</span>

### **How AnatomyArchive will Improve Your Art**

**1.**<span style="white-space:pre-wrap;"> By </span>**Teaching**<span style="white-space:pre-wrap;"> others (creating a page that others will look at) </span>**YOU**<span style="white-space:pre-wrap;"> will actually gain the most knowledge!</span>
I realized this when tutoring some kids, and now im using this hack to make yall better artists :)
Therefore the slogan 'Learning by Teaching'

**2.**<span style="white-space:pre-wrap;"> Over time AnatomyArchive will become a </span>**reference book**, that you can flip open anytime!
Perfect for keeping you company while making art.

#### **The Vision**

<span style="white-space:pre-wrap;">I wanted to create a learning website for artists that is </span>**free of distracting ads**<span style="white-space:pre-wrap;"> and even more importantly </span>**free of paywalls**. Basically no distractions, straight to the point -&gt; Art
Many times I found a cool website with useful information, only for it to be locked behind a subscription or similar. I think that's the trend right now and it's a little annoying. Let's change that with AnatomyArchive!

<span style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Supporting individual artists, if you like what they do, is of course appreciated, but the overall theme of this website is </span><u>free</u>.

#### **The 'free to use' aspect**

At the core this website is a source of information, so an easy way to spread this information is just as important. There should't be a big problem using any of this site's knowledge - here are my thoughts:
I saw a few of my professors at university cite Wikipedia in their presentations and I thought it would be cool if there would be a library for art teachers. I like the idea of learning with the AnatomyArchive for yourself but helping others improve sounds just as good. Thus I want to make it easy for anybody to use the content of this website for teaching and similar purposes. Doesn't matter if you just want to use a page you created yourself or the page of another creator.

<span style="white-space:pre-wrap;">I tried to implement this into the rules of this website by making all content free to use\*, more about that in the </span>[Terms of Use](https://www.anatomyarchive.org/books/about-the-anatomyarchive/page/terms-of-use "Terms of Use").

</details>

# Terms of Use

<p class="callout success">By using the AnatomyArchive you automatically agree to the following terms:</p>

##### Overall, I want this to be a respectful place to learn, for everybody.

---

#### **Free to Use**

All pages of the AnatomyArchive are free to use for anyone - non commercially (and commercially\*).

##### The 3 simple rules are:

- \*The pages are **free to use commercially**, so that they can be used for commercial teaching (e.g. classes/lessons, videos, articles). But you are not allowed to sell pages or parts of them directly, unless you ask [me](https://www.anatomyarchive.org/books/about-the-anatomyarchive/page/contact "Contact") beforehand.
- If you use an AnatomyArchive page somewhere **always provide credit to the artist** in some way. The minimum is to cite the artist's name.
- You are not allowed to use any piece of this website for **machine learning purposes**, AI model training and similar.

#### **Explicit Content**

The AnatomyArchive is meant as an educational platform for the whole human body but there are **a few boundaries**:
\- You are not allowed to display genitals.
\- The *Reference Pictures* have somewhat stricter rules, because there are real human beings involved. Read [here (Creator only)](https://www.anatomyarchive.org/books/information-for-creator/page/reference-pictures "Reference Pictures")

**If you have questions about any of this -&gt; [contact me please](https://www.anatomyarchive.org/books/about-the-anatomyarchive/page/contact "Contact")**
